These are some of the most important safety regulations that you must follow when you rent one of our vehicles:
- One day a week no driving program; It depends on the last number of the license plate, even if the car does not have plates from Mexico City. Those that do and were manufactured recently (1994 to present) are exempt from the program but only if they have passed the city’s six-monthly verification program and have been granted a zero emissions tag, without it, it cannot be driven every day.
- The use of safety-belts is mandatory.
- You must always drive on the right side of the road.
- Avoid using mobile phones while operating the vehicle.
- The vehicle can only use unleaded gasoline (Magna Sin).
- When dropping-off the vehicle, please contemplate at least 30 minutes to do so. Domestic flights require passengers to check-in at least 2 hours before departure and International flights require at least 3 hours.
- Due to safety regulations, children under 12 are not allowed to ride in the front seat.
- Continuous right turns are allowed after coming to a complete halt and allowing pedestrians to cross.
- During the rainy season, be cautious with overflowing streams and rivers on the road.
- Be aware of stray cattle and other animals on streets and highways.
- On highways, the third lane on the left is reserved for overtaking only.
- The use of the vehicle off highways and paved roads automatically cancels all insurance.
- Our vehicles are not 4x4 or all-terrain. That is, they can only be used on highways and paved roads.
- It is very easy to get bogged down in the sand or beaches, therefore, you are not to leave the road at any time.
- Any vehicle is subject to severe fines if not properly parked in authorized spots or if parked outside of the side-walk areas painted in white or yellow.
- Always drive carefully and pay special attention to corners with stop signs or traffic lights.
When picking-up or dropping-off your vehicle:
- Verify that you take all your belongings with you.
- Always bring with you any map that you may need.
- Never drive when exhausted from your flight.
- Pay special attention to your wallet/purse and to your car keys.
- Please do not forget your luggage, valuables or keys at the front desk.
- If travelling in a group, assign a person to stay with the luggage while the driver recognizes the vehicle’s control panel.
