• Present a valid driving license with at least one year of being issued by your country of residence.


• One valid credit card in the name of the driver for credit authorization. In the case of luxury vehicles, a second credit card may be required.


• One officially issued I.D. (passport).


• Additional driver: Only drivers who are registered in our contract will be covered by our insurance. Additional drivers must comply with the same requirements as the main driver (age/license).

Some credit cards grant coverage (insurance) to their customers for damage or theft of a rented vehicle. We are glad to receive these cards. We remind you that these cards do not cover damage to third parties.

Furthermore, please be advised of the following:

• If you chose your credit card’s insurance and decline coverage by alas rent a car, you will also be declining the mandatory coverage of third parties offered by alas rent a car.


• The coverage offered by credit cards may vary and is usually subject to restrictions, in particular when it comes to the maximum rent amount and the type of vehicle to be covered.


• We recommend that you contact the credit organization that has issued your credit card before renting a vehicle in order for them to provide you with information, details and proof of its coverage, which you must present at the offices of alas rent a car.

alas rent a car allows you to cross Mexico’s Southern or Northern borders with the vehicle. In order to do so, you must apply for written authorization. Please apply when making your reservation, or at our office, when picking-up the vehicle.
